SmartMesh Biweekly Report (2022.01.15–2022.01.28)

The Lunar New Year is HERE!!  SmartMesh and its ecosystem partners wish all SMT holders and supporters of the ecosystem community a healthy and prosperous Year of the Tiger!!

Happy Lunar New Year to you and your family!

SmartMesh Foundation has received a strategic investment from Professor David LEE Kuo Chuen.  Prof Lee’s investment represents an important endorsement and strong support in the SmartMesh ecosystem work’s towards building the Value Internet, Web3.0 and metaverse infrastructure.  SmartMesh Foundation has completed a strategic investment into a SmartMesh/MeshBox ecosystem project located in the United States. The partner will produce third-party smart hardware devices that can run SmartMesh Spectrum and Photon nodes and the MeshBox protocol.

This week, the SmartMesh ecosystem welcomes Brian J. Esposito from New York for joining the MetaLife team as Strategy Lead. Brian is the Founder and President of Esposito Intelligence Enterprises LLC, a holding company with over 20 years experience in business startups and investments.  Brian is a legend in marketing and brand value creation with extensive network resources in the entertainment, sports, gaming and investment industries. Brian will bring vast resources from his network to promote fundraising, NFT issuance, listing, celebrity participation, and various strategic collaborations.

With the joining of more outstanding talent, the SmartMesh ecosystem will propel itself to the forefront of the global blockchain ecosystem this year!

  1. Start whitebox functional testing on Spectrum hard fork:

1.1 All EVM instruction sets and related data structures have been upgraded to the latest code and structure compatible with the Ethereum ecosystem.  Currently testing compatibility of existing  contracts that are deployed and support for new contracts with higher version libraries;

1.2 Tested new contracts with 7 new fuctions – SHL, SHR, SAR, EXTCODEHASH, CREATE2, CHAINID, SELFBALANCE that are added in the SIP004 hard fork upgrade;

1.3 Special processing of hard fork blocks (including gaslimit verification), related production blocks and code parts of verification blocks after the gaslimit is increased;

1.4 Tested robustness of the upgrade network, including running block-producing nodes with updated code, and verifying the fault tolerance and self-recovering capabilities of the network;

1.1 Designed Photon super-node associated Room registration scheme, realized Photon address Room registration interaction logic through the alias registration extension form.

1.2 Continued to optimize Photon super node related functions, including: automatic creation of channels with Room-related nodes, changes and re-analysis of like data acquisition methods, changes in channel user address acquisition methods, etc.

  1. Preparation on serverless distributed communication for ecosystem project MetaLife.

1.1 Assisted MetaLife team in functional test on MetaLife’s adaptation to Room, including: publishing and receiving remote public and private messages on the mobile terminal; message publishing in offline scenarios and data synchronization status when online; user access to Room in different privacy modes and restrictions , message blocking in a specific message publishing mode, etc.

1.2 Analyzed and designed MetaLife identity data replication issue, discussed way of identity data backup and solutions in data coverage scenarios.

1.3 Analyzed functional requirements for MetaLife groups, including recipient key generation, message restriction, automatic encryption and decryption operations, group creation and invitation to join groups, etc.

1.4 Discussed preliminary functional framework for MetaLife side chain, including: account identity management, dictionary system, transaction types related to social media operations, decentralized storage of large-capacity data, etc.

Android\Apple\PC frontend:

  1. Web3 branch is built to realize compatibility of standard web3/ethers on the React Native build environment;
  2. Assessed ReadyPlayerMe-RN SDK, tested performance of virtual clone Avatar on mobile app;
  3. Data and logic implementation of “dynamic”/”private message”;

Communication layer for communication without internet:

  1. Completed encapsulation of RN-side low-power Bluetooth (BLE) module in peripheral mode;
  2. Completed design on communication mode of ssb data flow in BLE;
  3. Completed basic interface of ssb-mobile-ble-manager with ssb;

  1. Discussed product-related issues with the team of ecosystem project MetaLife, including product functions and development tools needed in the project.
  2. Evaluated product development schedule and resources needed according to information provided by MetaLife project team.
  3. Cooperated with MetaLife team to conduct secondary research and analysis data related to SocialFi products.

  3. This past week, the 2-month long “Metaverse Workshop” co-hosted by SUSS, SmartMesh and its eco-system partners MeshBox and MetaLife has come to a successful conclusion with students presenting their DApps to the audience. Driven by their own experience and combining the skillsets they have learned in the workshop, students have built innovative and diverse DApps that can create value for communities, including a Decentralized Application for IoT; NFT gallery and marketplace for the underserved with automatic donation to charities; De-Fi with tokenized securities; NFT ticketing etc. SmartMesh is working on a sandbox programme to potentially incubate such projects.
