SmartMesh Weekly Update (2018.08.20 – 2018.08.24)

The SmartMesh Spectrum Public Chain mapping operation is now imminent, and the team is fully focused on preparations to ensure it goes smoothly. It’s a somewhat complex task, and all teams need to communicate fully with the exchanges to make it happen.

In this week’s report, you can see how various different SmartMesh departments are preparing for the mapping, as well as learn what else is new in the SmartMesh project.

Technical Developments

Spectrum

The mapping is imminent, and the public chain team is carrying out the final debugging of Spectrum to ensure that it is in the best state when the operation initiates. All the preparations are now in place, and some of the exchanges have been technically docked, which can be verified through the exchanges’ public announcements.

Although the mapping is the main focus of this week, future development plans are still continuing as well. One topic of discussion that came up this week was related to topological relationships among the three types of nodes: outgoing block nodes, candidate nodes and common nodes. Also work on the EVM compiler will begin this week.

The details are as follows:

  1. Technical docking has been carried out with exchanges, some of which have made rapid progress and have completed all the docking work.
  2. The topological relationships among the three types of nodes in the public chain have been studied, and the optimal topological structure for Spectrum was discussed.
  3. Continued to study the libp2p function library to enhance the controllability of network topology.
  4. Start studying the EVM compiler.

This week’s Ozone R&D focused on optimization and upgrading. With the release of Ozone version 0.50, the public chain team achieved a breakthrough in its operation, with loading speed being the most obvious highlight.

The details are as follows:

  1. Further optimized Ozone. The optimized version has been submitted for product testing.
  2. Optimized application performance and improved interface loading speed.
  3. Read the Mist source code and prepare for the integration of DAPP.

SmartRaiden

This week, the SmartRaiden Team will focus on message processing for SmartRaiden intermediate nodes, unit testing of SmartRaiden Version 1.0, network-free security and application scenario design, matrix communication security design and so on.

The specific details are as follows:

  1. Designed the message received by the transaction relay node and part of the chain event processing, including indirect transaction message processing, RevealSecret message processing, Unlock message processing, AnnounceDisposed message processing, chain password registration event processing, and repeated Meditated Transfer processing.
  2. Continued the development of contract test code, designed the SmartRaiden partial contract function test scenario, and designed unlock / updateBalanceProof / punishObsoleteUnlock unit test scenario.
  3. Constructed restriction scheme and designed application scenario for indirect internet-free transactions through settle timeout and expire block, and constructed scenario examples for internet-free applications for vending machines, including the premise of internet-free payments, risk measurement and corresponding solutions.
  4. The matrix encrypted broadcasting mode and the signature addressing mode have been designed to ensure transmission security and accurate positioning. The SmartRaiden node caches part of the information of the whole network node in real-time (automatic transfers over the load) in order to ensure the basic data routing and the completion of the SmartRaiden routing charging scheme maintains its integrity and is optimized.

SmartMesh APP

We are now closing in on the Spectrum mapping operation and the APP team is fully prepared to take the app to the next level to stay in sync with the public chain.

Since the SmartMesh APP features wallet functionality, there will be a large number of users registering to use it after the mapping commences.  In order to prepare for this, the APP team has specifically targeted optimization so that everyone will have a smooth experience.

The specific details are as follows:

  1. Improved the interface between the Ethereum network and the tokens, so that users can check the status of the mapping.
  2. Created a mapping announcement information interface.
  3. Upgraded the wallet UI.
  4. APP locator function has been upgraded.
  5. Modified the rules for wallet names to make the names more precise.

Market Action

The mapping has also been guiding the work of the marketing team, who are undoubtedly busy not only with final docking issues with the major exchanges, but also with preparing for the official announcements regarding the mapping commencement and process. In addition, the marketing team is also planning a celebration for the event.

The specific details are as follows:

  1. The marketing team has carried out a rigorous publicity schedule for the SmartMesh Spectrum Public Chain mapping work. During the whole mapping process, the team will push out announcements so that everyone will be updated on progress in real-time.
  2. Final communications are being made with the exchanges supporting the Spectrum mapping to determine mapping times.
  3. Completed the SmartMesh Spectrum Public Chain announcements to update the SmartMesh community on the mapping. Relevant announcements will be released next week.
  4. An official tutorial for those who need to perform the mapping themselves has been written.
  5. Celebrations accompanying the mapping have been planned, details will be forthcoming.

That’s all for this week’s update, stay tuned next week to catch all the latest news on the mapping and everything else concerning the SmartMesh project.  See you then!
