SmartMesh Biweekly Report (2020.12.05–2021.12.18)

The founder of SmartMesh, Mr. Henry Wang, was invited to attend the “Space Intersects Internet 2nd Workshop” hosted by i2CAT, Xona and the European Space Agency and gave a speech at the Low-Orbit Satellite Internet Large-Scale Deployment roundtable.

To address the digital divide problem in which 3.9 billion people around the world do not have access to the Internet, Elon Musk plans to launch 42,000 low-orbit satellites with Starlink; according to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) disclosure document. In September 2020, China announced plans to deploy two low-orbit satellite constellations, code named “GW”, totaling 12,992 satellites. The Internet backhaul of the SmartMesh network is expected to be resolved globally within a few years.

Henry Wang said: “The large-scale deployment of Internet such as Starlink will inevitably have huge impacts on human science, technology and life in the process of trying to connect all human beings. Bringing serious problems, such as astronomical observations, universe exploration and orbital conflicts. How to use SmartMesh and MeshBox to optimize the space-ground integration network, and use a proof of mesh coverage to interconnect different constellations is my focus.”

The following is the specific work in the past two weeks:

As of this Friday, the number of staking mining nodes on the Spectrum public chain reached a new high of 742. SMT staking volume reached 653 million, accounting for 20.78% of the total SMT supply.

The specific work is as follows:

1. Photon optimization related work.

1.1 Continuing to analyze the liquidity design of the Photon channel through the DeFi platform, discuss the balance matching mechanism of DeFi liquidity staking and super node channel, and provide technical support for the subsequent expansion of Layer 2 DeFi.

1.2 Paying attention to the relevant Layer 2 technology supporting IoT M2M micropayment scenarios, analyzing and evaluating demo settings, payment processes, hardware components, and demonstration, prepare for the subsequent expansion of Photon application scenarios.

The specific work is as follows:

  1. Atmospheric interoperability and preparations for Jedtrade cooperation projects.

1.1 Monitor the Atmosphere cross-chain dependency environment, confirm the main-chain and side-chain contract address, notary node balance, and test chain node stability, provide environmental support for cross-chain cooperation projects.

1.2 Continue to pay attention to the standard design framework between NFT chains, including: use case classification, use case collection, terminology, and some interface functions, to prepare for the subsequent design of NFT application scenarios and the construction of resource perfect interoperability ecosystem.

1.3 Continue to dock with the JED Trade cooperation project, conduct preliminary communication on the design of multiple NFT Tokens and confirm the reasonable values of parameters such as Secret and Expiration, and provide support for subsequent project interoperability cooperation development.

1.4 Design a cross-chain Dnc test tool to quickly complete the cross-chain Lockin and Lockout process through the command, and assist the NFT cross-chain design process.

The specific work is as follows:

1. Perform product revisions and improve functions for the iterative functions of the Tango APP ecosystem module MeshBox MBOX NFT Swap and MBOX NFT Staking for DeFi Yield Farming function after compliance auditing process.

This week, the SmartMesh business marketing activities were busy but carried out in an orderly manner, as follows:

At the meeting, Henry mainly spoke on 3 issues:

1.How to effectively provide inclusive connectivity before the LEO constellations are fully built.

2.How SmartMesh can help to solve the problem of overcrowded LEO constellations in the future.

3.How to contribute to interconnection and inter communications of many different constellations.

Henry’s views on the space Internet have won the hearts of the global audiences.

  1. At the Singapore Fintech Festival last week, Mr. Sopnendu Mohanty, the Chief Fintech Officer of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, interviewed two Southeast Asian Fintech women leaders:

(1) Chea Serey, President of the National Bank of Cambodia;

(2) Tenya Hotchkiss, senior vice president and chief technology officer of Cantilan Bank, Philippines. President Tenya said that as many as 70% of the people in the Philippines do not have a bank account, which is the area she finds the most challenging.

Tanya introduced Cantilan Bank’s fintech project, which aims to provide millions of unbanked Filipinos with the ability to use financial services by connecting rural banks with the country’s main financial network. SmartMesh is working with a company in the Philippines which is a partner of Cantilan bank, and has a good chance to provide an inclusive communication solutions using MeshBoxes. This will also be the area where MeshBox and its corresponding MeshBox MBOX NFT Swap and MBOX NFT Staking for DeFi Yield Farming Launch may be of benefit.

3.SmartMesh CEO Henry and advisor Peter, had their first conference call with representatives of Chainlink oracle project. The two parties exchanged their business information and needs, and discussed potential cooperation in the fields of trusted execution environment (TEE), IoT and DeFi.  The two parties will continue to discuss potential collaboration and technology integration solutions.
