SmartMesh Biweekly Report (2021.07.17–2021.07.30)

Recently, companies and individuals from different countries around the world have contacted the SmartMesh team and expressed interest in deploying SmartMesh networks to provide Internet connectivity, community networks and payment services in their countries. Among them, there are requests from Singapore, Colombia and Seychelles to establish dedicated community networks. These networks provide a cost-effective network solution for the communication needs of the respective communities, where communication between peers in the community is needed, even with an intermittent Internet connection. The solution also addresses the concentrated points of failure issue in the existing conventional centralized networks based on Cloud data-centres.

The following is specific work in the past two weeks:

The specific work is as followed:

1.1 Discussed new functions related to layer 2 architecture, including: support for NFT minting, transfer and exchange, support for ERC 20 token exchange and limit order transactions.

1.2 Discussed hosting application for Photon Hub, conducted scenario analysis for off-chain transaction of multiple IoT sensing devices with Photon acting as data agent.

The specific work is as followed:

  1. Atmosphere interoperability and VISwap preparations

1.1 For cross-chain application between Spectrum and Heco chains, completed VISwap cross-chain notary adaptability modification.  Updated the relevant parameters for interaction between user and notary, and the call logic for contract interface.

1.2 Continued testing cross-chain notary function interface, including: settings for modify expiration and timeout, external interfaces for closing private key negotiation and contract deployment, splitting of notary group and main chain migration, etc.

1.3 To provide support for VISwap cross-chain application, continued work on Tango App cross-chain function, including: modify call logic on Scpreparelockin, modify method for obtaining nonce, modify error handling method caused by repeated submissions, etc.

1.4 Completed VISwap cross-chain contract audit and certification, communicated with contract auditors for process confirmation and problem feedback, and performed contract official website certification based on functional requirements to provide security guarantee for VISwap cross-chain implementation.

The specific work is as followed:

  1. Completed testing on Tango APP cross-chain function.
  2. Cooperated with the operational team for SmartMesh ecosystem project.

The marketing and business development activities were carried out in a busy but orderly manner, as follows:

  1. VI Lab has developed and launched the first phase of VISwap based on SmartMesh Atmosphere cross-chain architecture. VI Lab’s operating partner Lemo is mobilizing the DEX community to ensure that VISwap can operate smoothly and sustainably after its initial launch. This week, the founder of Lemo conducted an online AMA session on VISwap and met many community organizers offline to streamline resources. VISwap’s liquidity pool and initial mining will be opened soon after the local and international community resources are ready.
  2. A conference call was held between a company in Seychelles and SmartMesh. Seychelles is a country with a very friendly digital currency policy. Exchanges such as Binance and China Currency are registered in and obtained licenses from the country. However, Internet service in the country is still slow and expensive, similar to that of the Philippines and Indonesia in Southeast Asia. Most areas (islands) have no access to Internet, and bandwidth is also limited which benefits from optimization via a mesh network. The founder of a digital service company has contacted SmartMesh to explore solutions that could address the country’s networking challenges.
