Phase I of the Singapore Blockchain Challenge sponsored by SmartMesh and SUSS (Singapore University of Social Sciences) finally came to a climax after 6 months of hard work. All teams attended a live event online to pitch their projects to the judging committee with strict time limitations set. After dealing with the difficult task of discerning which teams did a better job, the winners were finally announced (you can find them below).
Congratulations to them, and also to all the participating teams who made it all the way through the workshop and competition! The SmartMesh team extends its heart-felt thanks to all the participants for their hard work and hopes they will continue to forge ahead, making more contributions and adding greater value to the blockchain field.
Meanwhile, SmartMesh CEO Henry Wang was invited by Professor David Lee to become a Fellow of the Singapore University of Social Sciences. He accepted the formal appointment letter from SUSS on August 28th, marking a deeper level of collaboration between SmartMesh and SUSS. Congratulations to Henry!
The Live Q&A with Lee Willson, chairman of the World Blockchain Foundation on Thursday, August 27th, and the one the previous week with Crypto Jen, a former consultant of the European Union Blockchain Council, have livened up the international community as everyone anticipates the release of all the details for MeshBox Tesla Pre-sales, which will put into play all of SmartMesh’s technology as well as the SMT Token which is already available on multiple exchanges.

1.2 Continued to discuss the suitability of the ERC721 contract, analysed the function of the introduction of ERC721Token into the HTLC contract, and prepared for the further expansion of support of the interoperability ecosystem application field.
1.3 Continued to dock with JED Trade collaboration projects, further discussed the JEDTrade & SmartMesh cooperative docking process, and provided support for subsequent project interoperability cooperation.

- Continued to conduct cross-chain product positioning and held multiple discussions with the JED Trade project teams conceiving feasible technical solutions to lay the foundation for collaborative products and interoperability for subsequent cooperation.

- There’s been a lot of buzz lately as the SmartMesh marketing team has been busy covering the Singapore Blockchain Challenge Phase I Finals as well as taking part in events run by the MeshBox Community Ecosystem including the Live Q&A last Thursday with Crypto Jen and the ensuing one with Lee Willson, President of the World Blockchain Foundation. The winners of the Finals were announced and were decided by the judges which included:

The winners of Phase 1 of the blockchain challenge are:
DrugChain rocked out first place with a thoroughly presented plan to put the squeeze on fake pharmaceuticals by employing MeshBoxes and Spectrum to work along the supply chain and get good medicine to people who need it.
Hashfun outplayed 12 other teams with their innovative idea for an app called Playnode that empowers young learners through Spectrum and MeshBox based tokenized incentives built into educational games.
Carelory finished with a solid third place landing and an amped up team that’s clearly ready for more with their biometric aggregating plan to harness the power of Spectrum and MeshBox and use them to incentivize healthy lifestyles by matching users with the trainers, nutritionists and specialists that are just what the doctor ordered.
One takeaway from this competition was that, although there were three teams declared winners, there were no actual losers. In fact, ultimately, all these teams are vying for something much bigger than a prize, and that won’t be awarded by a panel of judges, but rather by real market viability and the passion to actually roll out finished products and services to market.
Many of these teams will continue on through the next three phases of the competition, developing and honing their ideas, and acquiring resources, personnel and traction as they turn MeshBox-HyperMesh-SmartMesh based ideas into real implementable projects cum companies and organizations. This is the real deal, and where the dark horses can break out into the open..
2. SmartMesh CEO Henry Wang, advisor Peter Yan and Philippines local WiFi operating company CEO Francis Simisim conducted in-depth communication on the joint development of the Philippine market. Social Light, founded by Francis, is a company that operates public Wi-Fi networks with built-in advertising and content operations. SmartMesh and MeshBox will cooperate with them to expand their business models into the digital economy, reconstruct public Wi-Fi access, establish commercial retail digitization, and launch IoT smart city solutions into the digital economy. Before the outbreak of the epidemic, Henry and Francis’ team had conducted a joint debugging and testing at their Wifi operation site in the Philippines.
- On Thursday August 27th, Lee Willson, the chairman of the World Blockchain Foundation, was in a Live Q&A event entitled “Take Back Our Web”.
Lee ultimately put down the proposition that MeshBoxes empower their users and owners, and take centralized third-parties out of the equation of communications, information dissemination, commerce and security by leveraging both wireless routing and Spectrum blockchain technology.
