People will eventually know that the “new infrastructure” is the solution for the world to rid itself of the populism and backwardness of the global malaise brought about by Covid-19. From the perspective of SmartMesh, the technology that will have the most profound impact on humans in the next decade is the combination of blockchain and satellite Internet.
This week, the National Development and Reform Commission of China for the first time clarified the scope of new infrastructure: 5G, Internet of Things, Industrial Internet, Satellite Internet, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Blockchain, Data Center and Intelligent Computing Center.
Compared with the so-called seven major industries previously reported, satellite Internet and blockchain are newly included industries. This new inclusion shows that the National Development and Reform Commission has clarified the meaning of “new infrastructure”. In SmartMesh’s point of view, without blockchain and satellite Internet, the new infrastructure could be adequate in the construction of a country. However, with blockchain and satellite Internet, the new infrastructure will be a part of the global consensus, because blockchain allows people to trust each other without a mediating, centralized entity, and the epidemic allows people to see that the United States, which was the center of the world, may no longer be trusted. With blockchain, can satellite internet truly connect humans, otherwise satellites may become weapons or be destroyed by anti-satellite weapons.
There’s another point that perhaps we should emphasize on the importance of a ‘distributed’ new infrastructure. After all, being too centralized will make people question privacy and security, affecting the expansion of the new infrastructure and its applications. As everyone knows, in order to help health officials to track the corona virus, Singapore launched its own contact tracking application, TraceTogether in March. This is a distributed application but does not use blockchain technology. Its privacy protection is relatively good, but the actual functionalities are limited. China also has a health code, but its centralized implementation has raised concerns about privacy. After the epidemic, will people continue to be monitored like this?
For this, SmartMesh, in collaboration with Singapore’s SUSS and Singapore’s Blockchain Living Lab, are preparing to launch an innovation and entrepreneurship competition for Singapore college students. The competition will guide college students to apply SmartMesh, MeshBox and blockchain technologies to the design of epidemic prevention and control Distributed APP. This week was a busy week. - Photon optimization related work.
1.1 Carry out the design of the Photon withdrawal overdue function, complete the design of withdrawal overdue contract, restore and modify the state of the off-chain channel, and verify the function to further enhance the user experience of withdrawal.
1.2 Carry out the design of the third-party entrusted withdrawal plan, demonstrate the method and complexity of obtaining the status of the proposed push node, and further improve the scope of the PMS entrusted service function.
1.3 The preliminary demonstration of the feasibility of the off-chain rebalancing of Photon is introduced, and the backup routing scheme is introduced to achieve the balance function of the off-chain loop channel balance to further improve the payment efficiency of off-chain channel.
1.4 Continue to carry out Photon code and document grooming, complete code comment improvement, system requirements and function description and other document content expansion, in order to prepare for further improvement of the code quality and document specifications.

- Atmospheric interoperability and preparation of Living Lab.
1.1 Analyze the stability of the threshold signature of the distributed notary private key slice, plan to set up a distributed threshold scheme to establish a private key backup processing mechanism to provide auxiliary dependence to prevent the signature difficulty caused by the loss of multiple private key slices.
1.2 Reorganize the cross-chain Swap contract on the Atmosphere, analyze the functions of order creation, release, transaction process and query, and discuss supporting services to provide support for the subsequent expansion of asset exchange within the Living Lab ecosystem.
1.3 Conduct intranet test on Tahoe multi-introducer linking, test the feasibility of intranet storage sharing of multi-introducer splitting storage node, and provide reference for interoperability docking of subsequent projects.

Analyze and test the TraceTogether mobile APP released in Singapore. This is an application that can track contacts between people via Bluetooth and also report statistics. At present, the application has certain limitations. At present, Apple and Google are working together to develop tools for iOS and Android devices to communicate with each other via Bluetooth technology, and we will track their progress. This is what SmartMesh has been proposing and developing all along: interoperable technology which is beneficial to improve human connectivity. SmartMesh has been committed to breaking the bottleneck of unsatisfactory interoperability between Android and Apple and develop an offline communication function. At this stage, such functions can be supported through MeshBox, and in the future, after Android and Apple have launched a new agreement and successfully released the API to implement the underlying functions, SmartMesh will be able to achieve Point-to-point communication across multiple mobile platforms.
- For this, SmartMesh, in collaboration with Singapore’s SUSS and Singapore’s Blockchain Living Lab, are preparing to launch an innovation and entrepreneurship competition for Singapore college students. - Mr. Henry Wang, the founder of SmartMesh, was invited by Mr. Jeff Caceres, founder of NomadFury in the Philippines to speak at the “The Impact of Coronavirus in the Cryptocurrency & Blockchain Business” online webinar. After the meeting, another speaker from Malaysia, StockBox Capital co-founder Alex took the initiative to contact Henry in hope of starting some kind of collaboration in Malaysia and other regions in Southeast Asia. They will exchange details next week.
- Yesterday, Mr. Henry Wang, the founder of SmartMesh, had a conference call on the “new infrastructure” with the officials of the Development and Reform Commission of two cities belonging to the same province. The meeting involved building a “new infrastructure” industrial chain for several cities in the province. The industry chain includes SmartMesh blockchain, Satellite Internet, quantum communication, quantum sensors, Internet of Things, chip design and transactive energy. It is led by Mr. Henry Wang. Currently, the industry group is in the stage of confidential negotiation, so specifics cannot be disclosed at this time.. There may be 1-2 world-class satellite Internet companies born in China. On the other hand, it may take 8 years for the US SpaceX to launch 11000 satellites for the Starlink construction plan. This balance between various parities is important to the world; only when there is balance, will there be consensus; and with consensus people can truly communicate. Blockchain is the bridge of better communication. In 2028, it is estimated that China’s total satellite Internet revenue may reach 58.05 billion US dollars (399.384 billion yuan).
